Fred A. Bill and family papers, 1793-1957.

Most of the papers relate to Bill's career as a Mississippi River steamboat captain and to his research and writing on the history of steamboating, logging, navigation, and towns on the Mississippi River, the Chippewa River in Wisconsin, and the Red River of the North. They are concentrated in the years 1909 to 1935, and include correspondence, scrapbooks, diaries, clippings, reminiscences, articles, and drafts.
